Now celebrating its 12th Anniversary in Port Hope, Writers & Friends is always a much anticipated event in the fall arts calendar which over the years has helped to raise over $ 350,000 in support of impoverished communities in Central America and Mexico.

An evening of readings by four outstanding authors, live music, gourmet buffet, book signings, grand silent auction & live art auction, Writers & Friends takes place this year on Sunday, November 19 2006 with author Farley Mowat as well as Camilla Gibb, author of the 2006 Trillium award winner Sweetness in the Belly, and Joseph Boyden, 2006 Canada Reads nominee for
Three Day Road. Master of ceremonies will be TVO & CBC radio host and Globe & Mail feature writer Ian Brown.
