Horizons’ dedicated staff combine their diverse backgrounds, experience and knowledge to contribute to a highly efficient and committed team.

 

Patricia Rebolledo, Executive Director

(ext. 11), prebolledo@horizons.ca

Patricia oversees domestic and overseas work and reports to our Board of Directors. She has been with Horizons since 1990 and became Executive Director in 2000 after serving in various positions in the overseas program department. Originally from Chile, Patricia worked for international and national development organizations in Costa Rica and now calls Cobourg her home.

 

Bill Fairbairn, Mesoamerican Program Coordinator

Bill joined Horizons in June 2007. He is the main liaison with Horizons’ partners in Mesoamerica and is responsible for the coordination of all activities related to the Mesoamerica program. Originally from Guelph, Bill has traveled extensively throughout Latin America for more than twenty years, working with Canadian NGOs and, more recently, York University on a variety of human rights and social justice issues.

 

Clint Leeson, Administration & Finance Coordinator

Clint oversees our finances and administrative functions. He joined us in May 2010 and has worked extensively in human resources and finance functions in the Toronto area.  Clint recently moved to Keene from Toronto.

 

Linda Robertson, Administrative Assistant

She is the nerve centre of our organization and can generally route your query to the right person. Linda provides administrative support to each of our departments and processes donations in our fundraising system. Linda graduated as bilingual executive secretary at the Santa Maria La Antigua University in Panama. Linda joined Horizons full-time in 2005 after volunteering and working part-time for several years.

 

Sergio Quesada, Meso Financial Officer

Sergio provides financial support to the Mesoamerican program, gives training to partners on accounting systems and performs internal audits of partners’ finances. Sergio is from Costa Rica and worked there as an administrator and accountant with national NGOs.

 Karen Thompson, Thrift Shop Supervisor

Karen supervises our thrift and treasure shops and organizes silent auctions held twice a year at Northumberland Mall. She formerly worked in real estate and has been a Cobourg resident for over 10 years.

Colleen Dawe, Thrift Shop Assistant

Colleen has worked as the shops assistant for five years.  Before she took on her current position, she volunteered with Horizons’ thrift shops for six years.

Doreen Gorsline, Writers & Friends Event Coordinator

Doreen initiated the Writers & Friends as well as Homes, Gardens & Music fundraising events and continues to bring her vast literary knowledge and coordination talents to these endeavours. Doreen is from Port Hope.

Mesoamerican Consultants:

Horizons contracts Southern consultants to work directly with partners on institutional and program strengthening. Our consultants are experts in Results-Based Management, gender capacity building, and systematization methodology.

Horizons counts on the invaluable support of over 100 volunteers who help us with all aspects of our operations.

  • Friends of Horizons Kingston Committee (organizes Writers & Friends and other local events in Kingston to support Horizons’ programs) (25 volunteers).
