Inequalities in Costa Rica have increased in the last decade even though the country as a whole has gotten richer. One out of every ten Costa Ricans struggles to survive on less than US $2 per day.

Our Work in Costa Rica
Our engagement with Costa Rica dates back to the early 1980’s when we provided support to Central Americans living in refugee camps in that country. In the ensuing years, our program broadened to incorporate support to Indigenous peoples and to regional organizations that were based in Costa Rica and that worked with campesino and refugee populations in the region. We currently work with two strategic partners in this country, both of which support the most vulnerable sectors of Costa Rican society.
