Horizons of Friendship mourns the passing of former board member and president, Elizabeth Wilson

Horizons of Friendship (Horizons) is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former board member and president, Elizabeth Wilson, who passed away on April 11, 2022.

Elizabeth joined Horizons of Friendship’s board of directors in 1997 and rose to Vice-President of the board the following year, in 1998. She served as Vice-President until June 2000 and was elected President later that year. Elizabeth served as President of Horizons’ board of directors until 2002 and returned to the position of Director until she departed Horizons in 2003.

During her time at Horizons, Elizabeth was known for her strong fundraising and communications skills. During her tenure as President of Horizons, she led the organization’s development as a leader in the international development sector in Canada. Elizabeth brought a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and passion during her time at Horizons.

On behalf of Horizons’ current board of directors, staff, volunteers, supporters, and partners in Central America and Mexico, we express our condolences to her family and friends as they mourn her passing.
